Jenna Fischer was best known for portraying Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) in the television show. Her role on The Office earned her an Emmy nod for the Most Outstanding Supporting Actress category. She also was awarded two SAG Awards, both for exceptional performances in an ensemble comedy.
Her birthplace was Fort Wayne, Indiana, but was raised mostly in St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna was awed by her mother, Anne, perform in performances at church while she was younger and was able to instill a love of theater and performance.
Theater actress with training, Fischer returned to her roots following the completion of The Office. The Off-Broadway production of Reasons to be Happy was written and directed Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. In the following play, she was a part of Steve Martin's Meteor Shower - an absurdist play starring Greg Germann with Josh Stamberg - for the Old Globe Theatre's debut world premiere.
In October of 2019, Fischer and The Office co-star and best friend in real life Angela Kinsey started an online podcast called Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform, which has gained immense popularity, settling on the Top Ten globally every week and gaining over 200 million downloads in its first two years. Office Ladies took home the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
She is also co-author of Office BFF's Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends The Office. The memoir deals with their relationship and working together in the production of The Office.
