The babies were at the crib, as I was strapped in with a baby to my back. Ha! We were getting close to completing, however the project was still a way off. To complete this task I had planned to spend a considerable amount of money and spend time searching for the perfect home. My three sons and I searched for hidden gems while attending estate sales in order to ensure that my spending was under control. Our routine for the week consisted of walking from Thursday to Saturday through garage and estate sales, buying old and new pieces and then I would spend the weekdays painting sanding in the driveway. My first impression was similar to... that's the moment my love for restoring furniture started. Although our house was fully equipped, I couldn't quit. There was an area at the local markets that I could sell my items. In the end, I had numerous pieces that I did not think of a solution and my storage space was a mess. In my own home, I began hosting open houses, where over 1000 guests could visit to purchase anything they wanted from the first floor within a single weekend. Growing Days was created in this home. The business wasn't just expanding, but so was our family of four. As a mom of a child, I found the right equilibrium to start my own business as well as being a decent mother. Growing Days just fit. My sweet Nora was born in 2013, which was our fourth child. Though I was content with the direction my business took, I felt like I needed to take an occasional break. I decided to take some breaks from my old furniture and remain at home with the kids. This was precisely what I needed. Within a couple of months, the phone began to ring. The people who called me were asking for help with decorating their homes and interior improvements. These were mostly customers who came to my open home to purchase furniture. Then I slowly took on clients at my own speed. Then I was able to have many clients and I was running an enterprise of renovations to homes. I'm sure you would have laughed at me had you had said that this was going to be the subject of an DIY Network tv series. If I think back, it makes me laugh.
