Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti(born November 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now One Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to receive a score of a perfect of 10 in an Olympic competition. Bela Karolyi later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci when she was just 6 years old. At first, she competed in the national junior championships in Romania in 1969 she placed 13th. Then in the year 1970, she the Romanian gymnast won. She took home three golds at her very first contest, a junior pre-Olympic meet in 1972, which was a communist bloc countries. In 1973 and 1974 she won the junior all-round champion. When she made her first senior competition in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. The five-time European champion, winning four golds and a silver. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first woman in history to complete the backward double salto in dismounting from the uneven parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career in the entertainment industry began during her teens, when she began performing as a figure skater alongside her younger sibling Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol started her career as an entertainer in her teens. As a young girl she was a figure skating performer with Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. Ice Capades was a show that featured skaters ice skating with actors.
